It serves as the center for documentation, cataloging, interlibrary cooperation, library science research, information exchange, and professional talent training in the province.ShareAs of January 2020, the Jiangxi Provincial Library occupies an area of 63,000 square meters, with a total building area of 96,000 square meters. The library holds over 3.1 million volumes, including more than 500,000 Chinese hand-bound books. Among these hand-bound books, 2,089 rare and valuable editions have been cataloged. The library also holds over 3,500 local documents and 1,200 local chronicles. The library has more than 6,000 reading seats, and its daily maximum visitor capacity reaches 20,000 people.
On December 8, 2020, the Jiangxi Provincial Library celebrated its 100th anniversary.
